Battery Fleet Management

Battery Fleet Management

Effective fleet management of motive power batteries is one of the key functions needed to reduce operating costs in the warehouse. Multi-shift manufacturing operations, longer retail trading hours and the demand for faster logistics solutions are part of everyday business life. Keeping the materials handling equipment running, often times 24 hours a day, creates the need for streamlined battery management. Selecting the “best battery” is vital to maximising fleet operation and improving profitability.

With our vast experience in battery rooms, we have developed two products that can assist your operation whether it is a small or large enterprise.

The BSi40 product communicates with Hawker Life series chargers and delivers accurate battery status information and reporting, together with a valuable Battery Queuing LED display. Other brand chargers can be included with the use of the optional BSi Interface device.

This system is ideal for smaller battery fleets where effective battery rotation is business critical. Each BSi40 unit can interface with up to 160 chargers (40 chargers per panel) and can be configured to manage 1 to 10 battery groups.

The LifeNetwork iQ product is the latest state of the art management system to compliment the range of Life iQ and Lifespeed iQ high frequency chargers and adds some great new features for the larger fleet charging room. It can be hard wired or wireless with remote control access and visibility of your room via LAN or Internet. Battery and charger reports can be received via email or SMS.

Wi-iQ Battery Monitoring Device

Wi-iQ Battery Monitoring Device

Keeping your electric materials handling equipment on the move is fundamental to maintaining your business operating efficiently. To do this you need to understand that batteries are being charged and discharged to the optimum level while also being correctly maintained. If you get these elements correct, you will reduce not only battery changes to maximise machine availability but also ensure correct battery life.

The EnerSys Wi-iQ and Wi-iQ2 battery monitoring devices are installed on the battery to monitor and record charge and discharge data, voltage, temperature and electrolyte level (via optional external sensor). The LEDs provide real time status of your battery’s condition. The devices can also communicate wirelessly with the LifeiQ charger to automatically optimise charge profiling and display any warnings from the battery . The stored information can be transferred to the PC by wireless communication to generate valuable reporting data

Hawker Electrolyte Circulation System

Hawker Electrolyte Circulation System

Hawker electrolyte circulation, using the AirLift principle, comprises a system of tubes installed onto the battery. A diaphragm pump on the charger delivers a flow of air into each cell, setting up electrolyte circulation inside the cell container. This prevents electrolyte and temperature stratification and optimizes charging.

The advantages of Hawker vented batteries with electrolyte circulation system are particularly ideal in applications where high performance, short charging times and high temperatures are anticipated.
